Receiving Families

Family for Family works with families whose children are under 10 years of age, and whose situation could be improved by receiving donated clothes, shoes and small electronic devices.

The main criterion for the Receiving Family selection process is self-identified material need, reported by Family for Family staff based on an in-depth, home interview. Family for Family does not determine eligibility on the basis of specific income criterion. Families accepted into the program must show a willingness to work actively to improve and sustain their situation and declare a need for support.

Family for Family Program Steps

Step 1 Fill out the contact form on our website.

Step 2 A Family for Famly representative will contact you and set up a meeting in your flat or in the Foundation office.

Step 3 During this meeting, you will be able to fill out the application form to become a Receiving Family.

Step 4 When Family for Family matches your family with a Sharing Family, you will receive notification.

Step 5 When your Sharing Family prepares a package for your family, your Family for Family representative will contact you and set up a delivery time.

Step 6 Family for Family will deliver the package directly to your home. If you agree, your Family for Family representative will take a photo of your children when they open the package. You may prepare your own greetings or thank you notes (letter, drawing, child’s photo) and Family for Family will deliver them on your behalf to your Sharing Family.

Step 7 Family for Family will periodically contact you to update our information about your children’s sizes. Family for Family will deliver donations to you, as often as your Sharing Family prepares a package.
